Our Studio Policies Student Attendance: All students must attend class regularly to maintain the benefits of applying technique in all classes. Any student arriving 10 or more minutes after the scheduled time may not be allowed into class. If a student misses class due to illness or any other excused absence, it is the student's responsibility to meet with his / her teacher to arrange a make-up class. All make-up classes must be taken within the month. Beginning March 1, any student who misses more than two classes for reasons other than illness will not be allowed to participate in the recital. Tuition: Tuition is based on a 10 month “dance year” (September – June), and payments are broken down monthly. All payments are due by the 1st of the month. Payments will be considered late at midnight on the 10th of the month. All tuition should be placed in the tuition box in the studio lobby or mailed to the studio. If paying by cash, please pay the office directly so that you will receive a receipt for proof of payment. If paying by check, it will serve as your receipt. Tuition is not prorated for holiday months and June is considered a full month. We are able to keep your tuition costs reasonable by scheduling your payments this way. Payment may be made by check, cash or credit card (Mastercard / Visa). All returned checks will incur a $25.00 insufficient funds charge. All accounts must provide us with a credit card number to keep on file (Mastercard / Visa). If payments are made monthly by cash or check, credit card information is still required. If an account balance is not paid by the 10th of the month, the charges will go automatically to the credit card. If you choose not to provide a credit card number, the late fee for outstanding fees will be $25.00. A one month notice in writing must be given if a student chooses to discontinue classes. All accounts will be responsible for payment until notice is received. Statements will be emailed/mailed on a monthly basis. Studio Holidays: Please refer to the CALENDAR PAGE. Student Attire: All students will be required to follow a dress code when attending class. The dress guidelines can be found HERE. Suggestion Box: Please feel free to place suggestions concerning the studio into our suggestion box at any time. We want to hear your suggestions to help make our studio the best that it can be. Shoe Swap Box: The shoe swap box has been provided to help curb the expense that comes with replacing dance shoes. Everyone is invited to place shoes that no longer fit properly in the box and swap for a pair that do fit. Please examine shoes to makes sure that they are in decent shape for someone else to use. Please fasten shoes together, and indicate size clearly. This is strictly an honor system, so if you plan to take out a pair of shoes, please replace it with another pair. Parent Info: It is very important that the parents of our students know what is happening at various time throughout the year with our studio. Please make an effort to come in and read out bulletin board for any important notices. We do have a newsletter, but at various times we post notices between publications. It is also important that our records stay current. Please be sure to update us regularly of any changes to address, phone, or email. Emergencies/Telephone Calls: Students will not be allowed to leave class to receive telephone calls unless it is an emergency. Our EMERGENCY NUMBER is 813-290-1725. Uninterrupted Creative Time: For all dancers, there is a time to perform and a time to be self absorbed learning about the body through the pleasure and freedom of movement for movement's sake. Classes are closed to visitors (inside our classrooms) so that students may focus on their feelings and not feel inhibited by anyone's presence. We do however invite you to stay in our lobby, but please do not distract your child by tapping on windows, taking pictures, etc. We will designate a day when you may take pictures and videos, so please do not bring your cameras on the first day of class, as this is extremely distracting for you child. Concentration, focus, and understanding are easier for students when the class can proceed without interruption. Although we have a large viewing area for parents, we will attempt to close out the world so that your child can stay focused on what we are doing. You will receive a more detailed parent primer on the first day of class explaining class procedures, etc. Thank you and we look forward to a wonderful year with your child. |
